How We Got Started
Owner and Director, Deb McCunn, opened Baker Creek Ceramic Studio in March 2011. Deb fell in love with clay as a teenager. In 2009, Deb identified a need for a shared ceramic studio space in the Bellingham area and began her search. In 2010, she found and purchased a building space that had all the gas lines and electricity to make a great studio. She spent a few months remodeling the space and installing two Skutt electric kilns, a Bailey 18 cubic foot gas kiln, Brent wheels and other professional quality equipment. The space has been attracting ceramic artists of all levels ever since! Baker Creek Ceramic Studio is dedicated to offering high quality studio space for ceramic classes and workshops. We offer a wide range of classes, from beginning to advanced and specific techniques. There is also space for six resident artists to work.
